Gabe Liedman is a Brooklyn-based comedian and writer who has written for BBC America and MTV, and is currently writing a pilot for Comedy Central with his frequent collaborator, Jenny Slate. Slate, a longtime fixture on the downtown New York and Brooklyn alt-comedy scenes, is a former cast member of Saturday Night Live and co-writer/star of the short film Marcel the Shell With Shoes On.
Though he originally made his mark as a cast member of Saturday Night Live and in films such as Anchorman and Eurotrip, it was Portlandia, his comedic collaboration with former Sleater-Kinney guitarist Carrie Brownstein, that signaled Fred Armisen’s breakthrough moment. The pair’s self-lambasting, satirical dissection of hipster culture in our sister city to the south was recently renewed for a third season by IFC.
