After a brief detour writing songs for film and television soundtracks--including Sex and the City and Grey's Anatomy--ethereal folk-pop artist Katie Kerzig constructed 2011's The Waking Sleep over a full year, while touring on her own and opening for Brandi Carlile. By combining digitally programmed sounds and organic instruments, she's found a fresh, new musical identity.
